Dr. Sean Fitzgibbons
Dr. Fitzgibbons grew up in Stafford, Virginia and graduated from North Stafford High School in 2005. He then moved south to study Applied Physiology and Kinesiology at the University of Florida. After graduation, he was commissioned into the United States Marine Corps and served as an EA-6B “Prowler” pilot and Admin officer. After several years of military service, he decided to return to civilian life and enrolled in dental school at the University of Nevada Las Vegas.
As a dental student, he was recognized by his university and the American Association of Endodontists for exceptional endodontic care and received the AAE Student Achievement Award. He also received the William S. Kramer Award of Excellence from his local chapter of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, a national dental honor society. He graduated as valedictorian of his class and worked as a general dentist in the Las Vegas
community before attending Endodontic residency at The Ohio State University. His thesis was on the effects of virtual reality on patient care during endodontic treatment. After completing residency, he and his family returned to Virginia to practice.
He and his wife, Tara, have been married for over fifteen years. Together, they have three children – Theodore, Augustus and Florence (“Theo”, “Gus” and “Flo”). As a family they enjoy hikes, camping and smores around the campfire. They also are blessed to have friends who share their love of board games whom they meet with on the weekends to play.
Dr. Fitzgibbons is passionate about delivering the highest level of care in the endodontic field and as such was instantly drawn to Dr. Baron’s practice. He is a staunch advocate for research and technological advances in the field of endodontics and looks forward to serving the members of the Lynchburg community.
